When Baron Fenwick brings the great masterpieces to life at Caudan Arts Centre

A moment of remarkable artistic intensity crowned with resounding success: this is the experience that internationally acclaimed young pianist Baron Fenwick offered to an enthralled audience who gathered at the Caudan Arts Centre on 14 July.
An immersive musical odyssey where instrumental virtuosity meets pure emotion
Vibrant expressiveness and masterful precision
The first half of the concert showcased the full expressive range of Baron Fenwick's artistry. Performing solo at the piano, he captivated the audience with the refinement and elegance of works by Milo Andermann, Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff and George Gershwin. He then shared the stage with Ensemble 415 for Johann Sebastian Bach's Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, BWV 1052, before welcoming Guy-Noël Clarisse and Joanna Gentil to perform Igor Frolov's Divertimento for Two Violins and Piano.
A stage that brings generations together
The second half took on a more eclectic character. Baron Fenwick and Jeremy Gungadoo engaged in a passionate musical dialogue through a composition by Nikolai Kapustin. Joined by Jean Pierre Madoosing and the students of the Richelieu School of Music, their contagious energy highlighted both their confidence and their genuine rapport through a subtly varied repertoire. This remarkable harmony reflected the American virtuoso's deep commitment to nurturing young talent, whom he regards as the artists of tomorrow.
The François Mitterrand Conservatory of Music then joined Baron Fenwick on stage, followed by another memorable performance featuring Jean Pierre Madoosing, the Alan Marimootoo Jazz Band Group, Steven Sungeeleemootoo, Eddy Grassy and Samuel Laval. Together, they elevated a repertoire enriched by multiple musical influences, beautifully illustrating the refinement and diversity of the evening's artistic exchanges.
The concert concluded in an atmosphere of enchantment with Baron Fenwick's interpretation of Elton John's Can You Feel the Love Tonight. The entire audience then rose to sing John Lennon's Imagine, united by a shared message of hope and peace. It was a moving moment of togetherness in which music became a universal language, bringing people together in a spirit of fraternity.
